Outfit: sunshine stripes

There are so many pretty dresses on offer this season it’s hard to know what to save your pennies for, but I’m going to fight the corner for this particular beauty from Voodoo Vixen! Voodoo Vixen don’t currently have it in stock, but you can get it from my friends at Blue Banana who kindly sent this one to me.
I loved this dress the moment I clapped eyes on it and I’ll tell you why in four words: neckline, pom poms, colours and stripes. I’ve never seen another repro dress quite like this one; all of these things together make it really quite special. One of the things I love about it is how the many colours could lend themselves to the dress being worn so many different ways. I’m having a bit of a love affair with bright yellow recently so I based my look around the vibrant lemon stripes and found a matching field. Cos, you know.
I just think this is such a fun dress and I can’t wait to wear it more in the summer. It was also a surprisingly good match for my cowboy boot brooch from Erstwilder – so much so it’s almost camouflaged here! I’ve mentioned before I have a bit of a thing for cowboy boots, so I was delighted to add this brooch to my collection – especially as it features gold glitter. I’m also pretty pleased with these hair flowers too – another beautiful offering from Alternate Normality. Seriously my go-to for hair flowers in recent days.
Can we all pretend we don’t notice I’m bizarrely standing on a tiny rock in this first photo? Thanks. I assure you it was accidental, not a failed attempt to gain a meagre bit of height on my part…

You look fiesta-ready! I like this dress a lot on you, I think there's a playsuit option as well isn't there? The detail is just gorgeous. The field is a particularly good accessory in this shoot, as are the double hair flowers. I need to get some of those, why have one when you can have two? I laugh so much at your observations of slightly odd things in your photos, like the teeny rock. Hilarious!! xx

Very cute! The color scheme and the stripes remind me of serape blankets – I've seen a couple of vintage dresses that remind me a bit of this, and I've always really liked them. The yellow accessories are sunshiney and lovely, and I'm so impressed that you've found the perfect field of yellow flowers to go with it!

Now this is a stunning outfit on it's own – but that wonderful yellow field behind you really is the perfect backdrop to set off the colours of this dress. An even bigger win that the field is an identical shade of yellow to those hair flowers – adds so much whimsy to these photos because it's as if you've plucked them and put them in your hair. I'm very excited to see this dress in a blog post as it looks even more lovely in real life, I had no idea there were this many pom poms from the stock photos and I absolutely love it!

Oh wow what a gorgeous dress on you! I'm loving your yellow hair-flowers, and yellow shoes matched with this colourful striped dress! Beautiful photos, especially with that fields of yellow flowers behind you! 🙂

There may be lots of pretty dresses around, but surely not one as lovely as this! It is gorgeous, and so fabulous with your yellow shoes! Kx

That's a fun frock. You look as good in saturated colours as you do in pastels. Surely that's not fair? 😉

Wow! I love this dress on you. And you're so right, the Erstwilder boot brooch is just perfect with this dress! <3
