Outfit: beautiful blooms

Since I’ve become a mum, I’ve had two occasions I’ve needed to wear a special outfit while breastfeeding. Which, to be frank, is a giant pain in the neck. I’ve seen many nursing dresses, but I haven’t yet met one designated for this purpose that doesn’t make me want to throw a lighter at it.

So, I’ve just shown you what I wore for Sadie’s naming day and now here’s what I’m planning to where to my brother-in-law’s wedding in April (I say planning cos I love over-buying for one occasion :D). Hell Bunny have helped a girl out with an elegant dress that also has the bonus of having a wrap bust in a stretchy material, making it easy to pull down.

I love the flutter sleeves, the mint green colour and the subtle sheen to the fabric. It also has a tie waist that means I could do what I’m finding impossible – size something to my bust, but not have a baggy waist. My bust is now a size 12 and my waist has gone back to its previous 8-10, leaning more to a 10 now. It’s a tricky shape to fit.

It’s a really pretty dress that I think will serve me well at a wedding, particularly with the little Lindy Bop jacket I’ve thrown over the top, for some added warmth. My mum pointed out a jacket fitted around the bust only draws attention to its magnitude, but actually, it’s not bothering me as much as I expected in these photos. And it is possible to wear this jacket with the bottom two buttons undone to help break it up, so I may just do this (you can’t wear them all undone, it looks rubbish as it loses all shape). The jacket was part of a set with a dress that I can’t wear to feed in, but as I got both in the sale for £20 I figured I’d pay that for a jacket anyway – and maybe one day I can wear the dress, or sell it on.

What do you think, have I cracked Spring-wedding-nursing-attire?! (Read on for a discount code!)

It’s nice to have a jacket in such a fun colour! Probably why it was on sale, but I’m not complaining 😉 xx

I LOVE that you paired the LindyBop jacket with this dress! I have the Marianne set in red and LOVE if I can pair the jacket with another look – makes me feel like I got my money’s worth and then some 😉

You’re ROCKING the mama style – these colors and style on you! I know how frustrating it can be with sizing – I’ve gained weight over the last few years and got a bustier bust but before that happened, I was the same way only opposite (bust was the smaller size, waist fit the larger size, etc). It’s a challenge!!

I loved the set on you! I was looking at pictures before I decided to buy it. You should definitely match it up with some other dresses – red is so versatile, as well.

Anything where part of you grows out of proportion with another part of you is a total pain in the! Dresses just aren’t made that way 🙁 Not are they made to whip your boobs out every few hours – ha! But stretchy dresses are always handy for this problem 🙂

Ah thanks Nicole 🙂 I’d never seen it worn without the matching dress before but I’m glad everyone agrees it looks cute!
