So, it’s been a little while since my last post and if you’ve been following along on Instagram you’ll know why – my pregnancy is finally over, hooray!! Meet Sadie Mae, who arrived into the world 6 days past her due date on 30 July.
Yep, after being convinced for 9 months I was carrying a boy, here she is. In fact, the first I saw of her was her rear end, as the medical staff knew we didn’t know the sex and thrust her backwards at me seconds after birth – both a shock because I wasn’t expecting it and I wasn’t expecting a girl! Honestly though, we didn’t have a preference and I wouldn’t change her for the world. All the cute outfits I get to dress her in, hooray <3
So, of course, we think she’s the most beautiful baby there ever was. Even when she has her ‘milk drunk’ face on…
One of my personal favourites, that one.
So I did get to do most of the labour at home like I wanted, but as often is the way with childbirth things didn’t go quite to plan at the end and I needed an assisted delivery in hospital.
This is probably the least glamorous photo of myself I’ve ever put on this blog – I’m wearing compression stockings, my hair has seen cleaner days and my face has seen more makeup, but it’s our first family portrait and B and Sadie look adorable, so meh.
So, I’ll be taking a little time off from posting here for quite obvious reasons – main one being I can barely keep my eyes open long enough to write this post. Second one being I’m surprised I got 30 mins to write this post as the girl is an eating machine. But after that, we’ll see. There’s a great opportunity for matching outfits in my future, after all…
I think Sadie’s on board with that!
