Last weekend we went on what could be – rather cringingly – called a ‘babymoon’, which is just a lame name for what’s essentially a last holiday the two of you before the baby comes. I was really keen to do a break like this because I know it’s going to be a long time before we go anywhere once the baby’s here, but we needed to do it on a budget, so it made sense to go back to the scene of the crime – where we got married!
Luckily for us, the weather was absolutely beautiful pretty much the whole time. I hadn’t actually planned to take snaps of this outfit – it’s not winning any originality awards, for sure – but it is a very truthful snapshot of something I walked around in all day while 7 months pregnant, so I thought to myself: why not?
It helps that I have a bag with a crab on it to show off here, to distract you all from how simple the rest of the look is… The majority of this outfit is thanks to of one of my recent favourite brands, Joanie Clothing – and I’m regularly on the lookout for additions to their sale section, as this bag and dress were. What I love about them is that their clothes just feel a bit different to what you can buy elsewhere – a bit quirky and often with a vintage twist, not to mention super reasonable usually. And a crab bag is perfect for where we were – in recognition of one of the crabbing capitals of the UK and a throwback to our wedding day.
So, we snapped these pictures when we were out on a walk along Cromer beach, with our wedding venue in the background. This time though, our first family member was with us, racing around like a lunatic and digging holes in the sand. However, Bebo didn’t stay still long enough for a decent photo, as the last picture will summarise nicely…
And here’s the front of my puppy… sort of…
It doesn’t really matter that he wouldn’t sit still for a photo – this one will always make me smile.
This weekend is my baby shower, which I know nothing about other than what I’m wearing – exactly as I want it to be 🙂
