We’ve had a lot of baby blue around here lately, so it was about time that some baby pink had its turn! After all, it could well be a little girl currently kicking the living daylights out of me in my stomach… True story: this baby was so active one particular day last week that I was genuinely worried something was wrong and had to get a midwife to check it. Nope, turns out I’ve just got a bruiser in there. Probably quite literally as it gets bigger.
Otherwise, all is well. If ‘well’ is numerous digestive complaints, various aches and pains, and feet the size of cats by the end of the day. I’m told it is… Pregnancy is fun! As is dressing for it. Honestly, I can’t keep up with my expanding frame. The shirt in these photos was a beautiful fit on my bust just two weeks ago. And now I’m at real risk of popping a button and had to secretly safety pin it more firmly shut. I was hoping to get more wear out of it because it’d be such a great summer staple but it’s not to be… If you’re not expanding rapidly like I am, this is a great item for your wardrobe because unlike a lot of shirts it has some stretch in it. It also comes in a cute mint green too.
Such are the perils of attempting to wear non-maternity range clothes at 7 months into this pregnancy. The shorts in this post are maternity wear – and they have the dubious effect of sort of disguising the bump from the front. Then I turn to the side and… HELLO! See below for what I mean. The bump is now measuring bang on what it should be, so it’s really not that I’m small – I just somehow keep picking outfits that curiously mask it…
Headscarf: Bow & Crossbones
Sunglasses: Bonlook (last year’s – currently available colours)
Shirt: Jasmine c/o Voodoo Vixen
Shorts: Asda Maternity
Bag: Ollie & Nic (old)
Clogs: Swedish Hasbeens (very similar)
And with that, I’m off to be a hippo bridesmaid at one of my best friend’s wedding this Friday! Wish me luck in not bursting a seam on my dress, because it’s a very real possibility…
