Thank goodness for the spring/summer catalogues! I am so over winter already. I was over it before it began, let’s be honest. Things have gotten a little quiet around here and I’ll admit I’ve just run out of inspiration. It’s really cold, the weather is generally absolutely horrible, and I just find myself in the same knitwear on repeat right now. So seriously, thank goodness Hell Bunny have released their catalogue so there’s a ray of light at the end of these looooong old months.
There’s nothing like summer clothes to remind me why I love fashion blogging! Hell Bunny’s new range is looking like another classic of theirs and here’s what I’ve really got my eye on…
The whole Marianne range…
I can’t explain how much I love these new styles! What a tricky decision trying to decide which to get… I don’t actually wear much block black, but I can’t resist the colourful rik-rak trim and the pom-poms. Pom-poms! I can and will never say no. I love the simple sultriness of the off-shoulder top, and I think it’s the first time I’ve ever seen pom-pom trimmed capris… hoping it won’t be the last! But, that’s not to forget the dress, which, thank you as ever Hell Bunny, has adjustable straps for us tall and shorties! I think you could wear that dress for cocktails or just going for a picnic in the park, and hey it’s black so no grass stains!
I feel like I’ve been waiting for all of these pieces a while! The Rio top on the left – not gonna lie I’m probably getting all the colours. I live in my gypsy tops in summer, but I’d love to have more fitted options and these cuties with the adorable frill neck look like the answer! Bonus points because Hell Bunny separates are always so affordable, it’s not too hard to catch ’em all! I wanted to also mention the Celine top that you can see the bow back of too though – from the front it’s a simple scoop neck t-shirt, but that back is just gorgeous. I wear my hair up a lot in the summer so what a nice detail to have on show. I couldn’t resist including the dungarees – I am a big dungarees fan ever since I bought my cropped leg variety from Collectif, but I do find it harder to fit Collectif’s styles than Hell Bunny’s (the waists are often too high for my short torso), so these full leg overalls look like a good option for me! Classic dark denim, a leg that’s not too fitted or too full – they’re gonna be flattering. And last but not least, this darling wicker bag. It actually released last year but due to delays in production it came in virtually when summer was over and I’ll be honest, it wasn’t cheap (from memory, around the £70 mark). I imagine it still won’t be, but I know these are handmade and honestly I’ve wanted a white wicker bag for ages – it’ll go with everything! Worth the investment, I think (although I’ll probably take those cherries off!).
There are a lot of gorgeous prints in the range this season – not least lots of flirty florals! I never get all that excited about basic floral prints, but while these all have flowers on them they are just different enough I rather like them. The first dress here I think is extra exciting, because it marries my favourite Hell Bunny peasant top style with a skirt – and more than that, the length makes me think it’s going to be perfect for the shorter lady. Anything on-the-knee on a model is usually a little below it on me, which is my favourite. So, this dress was already a winner and then I realised it has strawberries on it – the best of all the fruit! But there were more winning patterns to be found, and I love these two other styles – the first is tropical fun, and the second the colour palette is gorgeous. I think having a large leaf print among the flowers is always a winner for me.
So, those are my favourites! Even if it feels like 500 years until I’ll be able to wear any of them… Do check out the rest of the new Hell Bunny catalogue here too. What have you got your eye on??
