Outfit: pink lemonade

It's here, it's here, spring is here!! I couldn't be more excited about the longer days and warmer weather. And daffodils everywhere, yay for daffodils. And even more than that, pulling out some clothes I haven't worn for what feels like forever. Because winter generally feels like it's never-ending to someone who hates it as much as I do.

I actually managed to wear my favourite capris (now back in stock - see link below) without my calves freezing off, hooray! This outfit was inspired by my new pink lemonade brooch from Erstwilder. It's so darn cute - I mean, I like their jewellery a lot and it often pops up here, but I love the colours and fun summery vibe of this one so much I decided it should inspire a whole look. It's not often I wear pink and yellow together because no one needs reminding of Mr Blobby, but actually that's a shame because look how good it is! This outfit is ticking all my matching boxes, I'm even matching the flowers. Soooo goooood.

So, you've seen many of these items before, the shoes quite recently, but you haven't seen this top. I'm not 100% sold on how flattering it is on me and to make that worse about 60% of the photos from this day I had a sizeable double chin. I don't think it's a coincidence as this top is high-necked, although I'm quite capable of a double chin without that... Anyway, I quite like the colour because I don't have any baby pink already really and it's quite nice with a monochrome polka dot, so I'm not getting rid of it just yet. I mean, just look at how well it matches this brooch, it would be a crime!

Oh, do take a closer look at my earrings by the way. They are indeed little blackberries! I have Porcelina to thank for them, as they fell out of my Christmas card last year. I didn't even manage to send a card... Mind you, I would never have thrifted such a cool gift!

  1. Matching the daffodils! Absolutely fantastic! And the pink and yellow is too good not to wear because of Mr Blobby! That reference did make me chuckle!

    1. I realised later that only British people were going to get that reference! But it's always in my head when wearing pink and yellow together!!

  2. What a glorious spring day and a fantastic outfit to match! I am especially impressed by those matching daffodils and little buttercups on the ground that go so well with those peep toes and bag :D The pink top really does look great with the polka dot capris - great outfit to show off that brooch. Even though it's pink lemonade I think it could also work well to go with an outfit for a night out as it could easily look like a cocktail as well ;P

  3. A burst of Spring sunshine in an outfit! We have indeed had a few sunny days here but I can't say it's been warm, your side of the country is warmer! I really like the pink and yellow, it's not a combination we see very often. The hair flower is so pretty! And what double chin?! You look gorgeous. Here's to more Spring sunshine xx

    1. I think everyone got the wrong end of the stick here - I didn't actually use the 60% of photos with double chins in!! These are very much from the other 40%!!! xx

    1. No not in these photos, I should have been clear that I put the ones with the chin in firmly in the digital recycling bin!

  5. Just googled Mr Blobby - that is absolutely terrifying! You, of course, are anything but. I actually really love the look of a high neck, short sleeve top, which always strikes me as pleasantly retro in a way that a t-shirt generally isn't, and I think this lovely shade of pink is really great with the polka dot pants and yellow accessories. It's a great look for spring.

    1. Yes it's a really obviously retro touch that's still really cute and comfy, which is a win :D

And honestly, there is no double-chinning happening here. At all. You look beautiful!
