Outfit: the only (Atomic Swag) tee for me

I'm not a huge t-shirt wearer, but now and then a tee comes along which looks like it was made for me and I have to give it a go - one with a beach scene and a dog on it; I'm so there! And if that wasn't enough, it features red, blue and mustard, which are probably my three favourite colours to wear.

And isn't mustard one of the most fun autumnal colours? Goes so well with those non-existent autumn leaves on the trees behind me, heh. Yeah, you got me, this is one of those I shot in a totally different season, spring in fact. But isn't that the great thing about spring and autumn - they have a pretty similar climate so you can wear the same outfits for both! We were actually on a mini-break that feels like it was a decade a go, but it was actually only a few months, up in the north of the country.

It was the first time I got my waving tong to work for me and the first time I wore these shoes, both of which have become favourites over the course of this year. These shoes, oh how I love them. I bought them on a whim during my friend's hen do and they were one of the best impulse purchases I've ever made. They're comfy and they add that perfect casual-but-glam twist to my outfits, which just makes effortless look great. Plus they're red.

And that's really all I have to say today. I actually really love how this outfit turned out, even if the skirt does annoy me because it's that bit too short and not high-waisted enough for my liking. Looking at these photos reminded me of that fact and I have in fact found a replacement, hurrah, which I actually link to below. A denim pencil skirt is such a wardrobe staple - for me at least.

  1. Very cute! This is actually the kind of tee I would love to wear with my Freddies jeans! I am also seriously lacking in nice casual tshirts that are still vintage style so this might just be the thing to fill the grey area in the casual wear section of my wardrobe. I am pretty jealous of girls who look great in mustard - a colour I absolutely adore but look so wrong in. Which is weird because sunny yellow is okay on me? Oh well, you can't have it all!

    1. I'm really picky about the designs but this one was calling my name for obvious reasons :D I do love how they can be a good starting point for colourful outfits though. And of course, the comfort factor! I find it hard to believe you look bad in anything :P

  3. A sweet little outfit, I think that skirt's really cute on you, but I look forward to seeing you in your new one! That's funny that we both had been on the hunt for one and recently found one. I do wear lots of items in both Spring and Autumn, you're right about the climate being similar enough. I try and get the colours a bit reflective of the season but really want a bit of guidance on it. I tried searching online but all it comes up with is that weird colour diagnosis thing where you can only wear certain colours. Anyway, prattle prattle, I need to eat something and then get back to work!! xx

    1. I'm far more conscious since having a blog about seasonal colours, but I think I'm often just wearing whatever I'm warm enough in, and if that's mint green in autumn and mustard in spring then so be it ;) I get a bit depressed only wearing darker colours because it's cold!! xx

  5. Wonderfully sweet, fun and very pretty outfit. The colour palette couldn't be better suited to fall (regardless of the season these snaps were taken in), I completely agree. Plus, mustard yellow everything for the win always in my books (at the moment I'm hunting for a mid-century hat in that hue alone; I have one already that sees it paired with green and teal, but not a purely mustard one and I just know that I'd wear such to death, so I definitely hope to hit upon one - perhaps even before this fall wraps up, you never know! :)).

    Oodles of hugs,
    ♥ Jessica

    1. Purely mustard accessories are so useful! Like that adorable little bag you gifted me last year :) I'm hoping it will feature in an outfit this autumn in fact, having made its debut in sunny summer! x

  10. You look adorable! I love the saucy t-shirt, and the mustard cardigan and perfectly fitted denim pencil skirt both compliment it and set if off. It's cute, fun, and perfectly put together in a vintage-meets-modern way that is perfectly suited to you.
