Most of the time, I don’t have my legs out at all, but I can’t resist a pair of high-waisted denim shorts because I find them such a versatile summer staple. And if you’re going to get them out, it’s fun to add some heels and look like you’ve walked out of a pin-up poster…
I was really pleased to see these shorts in Collectif’s summer range this year – and even more pleased when I found the super high waist wasn’t uncomfortable. Admittedly, the waist is slightly large on me in my usual size, which for Collectif is surprising as I’ve often had to size up in bottoms, so if you want a really fitted pair I’d say you could probably size down. For comfort though, I’ve probably got the right size and just need to add a belt.
I hope everyone is as happy as I am to see the now infamous Collectif strawberry bag paired with this cardigan! So satisfying. I was expecting I wouldn’t get a lot of wear out of this cardigan, due to its colour and contrasting embroidery, but it’s one of those surprise pieces that I keep reaching for. This actually shouldn’t be such a shock considering how much I wear red and how mint seems to go with way more than you think it would. Note to self: Buy all the mint. (Self: Way ahead of you!)
Now I just need to take this outfit to a real picnic (rather than just a picnic blanket for posing, heh)… with strawberries for afters, of course! If you like either the cardigan or the shorts I’m featuring here, by the way, my advice is to be quick if you want to snap them up, as Collectif’s summer pieces have been flying out the door as soon as they land this year! Oh and the strawberry bag is currently in stock, but we all know that doesn’t hang around for long…

Not seen in these photos, by the way, is the local dog-walking group in the distance, and then the two chocolate labradors and collie who bolted across the field to jump all over me. Epic fail on B’s part to not capture that, eh? It might have actually been cute, because I’m genuinely never happier than when with dogs… So, apologies that you had to put up with the usual dog-less posing after all!
