Outfit: here comes the sunflower

Do you remember how I told you I got changed in a car recently? Yeah, I know, how could you forget. So here's part two of the changing saga - hair flower off, earrings on... complete change of all other clothes and we end up here, featuring another stunner from the Erstwilder Beauteous Blossoms collection.

It seems a lot of ladies have love for this sunflower brooch, but is it really a surprise? Who doesn't love a brooch of such a bright and cheerful flower? I can picture it featuring in so many outfits, as there's little yellow doesn't go with, but I wanted to start with something as summery as the flower itself. Our weather might be seasonally challenged, but my outfits don't have to be!

It was about time I found the perfect look for this cute vintage handbag that Jessica of Chronically Vintage gifted me last year when we collaborated. It's the ideal finishing touch here, picking up the sunshine shade of the brooch just as I hoped it would. What impeccable taste that lady has!

  1. I think you did a fab job of getting the two shoots done in one day, you look great here and have managed to get a completely different feel to the other outfit, so it doesn't look like a quick-change effort! The yellows and greens are a nice palette too. Not everyone loves really bright colours, so this shows that you can have a more muted selection and still get a lovely pinup look! xx

    1. Very true, I think the assumption often is that pin-up is bright and bold, but it doesn't have to be :) xx

  2. Again my dear you did a great job putting together the colour combo of this outfit. It looks really summer time :-)
Well, if you do not say you changed in the car we would have never known about it. Ups! as you explained very well, "issues of being a fashion blogger".
    Have a great week,

  3. Well aren't you quite the quick change artist! And honestly, I'm impressed with you getting two great photo sets in one day. There's only so much time in the day, and if you've got a great setting, it only makes sense.
I love how you've managed to capture a very different vibe here, kind of like a tiki/hula girl or something. Those earrings work perfectly with the print of the skirt, and the sunflower brooch finished everything off really nicely. Great summertime look.

  4. Wow, sweet CiCi, seriously wow. This outfit is dazzlingly pretty and so immensely perfect for the sunny months. I'm honoured that you made the yellow vintage handbag that I sent you as part of our fabulous collaboration a focal point of this beautiful outfit. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing so.

I was able to snag one of Erstwilder's delightful sunflower brooches before they sold out, too, and had to smile that we're now (or will be - it hasn't arrived yet) brooch twinsies.

Really and truly, thank you again. I wish I could clone this whole outfit and we could be total outfit twinsies. :)

    Huge hugs,
    ♥ Jessica

  6. Such a gorgeous outfit and really beautiful photos. This Erstwilder collection is so pretty, I wouldn't mind another brooch from this collection - if there is any left that is haha. I really want one of those Hell Bunny tops too! Great job on getting two outfit photo sets done too x

  7. Yellow and white, gorgeous combination. So fresh and uplifting. The little sunflower is such a happy addition to the look! Perfect for for everyday. Not too dressy but elegant and sophisticated non the less.

  8. That top looks really well constructed for HP, and the skirt looks really grown up for lack of a better way of putting it. Your making my crave Hasbeans so badly....

    1. My advice would be to start with a pair bought cheap if possible, because they're not for everyone (even though I love them)!

  9. Oh, that outfit is so cute! I love the skirt and even more the brooch. I really, really want/need more brooches by Erstwilder, they are so prrrrretty!

The top looks much better too than I expected. I really wanted to try it on in a local store, but it looked so see-through! I'm happy to see it isn't as transparent as it seemed to be, so I might give it a go :)

    1. Completely agree with you - I was expecting this top to be see-through but it isn't. Really good value for money, I think.

  10. It's great seeing this Tara Starlet skirt that's part of the two piece set I have being styled separately from the top! I wanted to do this myself but just haven't been able to find the right top, although you've definitely inspired me to wear mine with a plain white peasant top in the future. I am loving the tops that Hell Bunny are releasing, not only are they affordable but they look just as good as some of the ones by more expensive companies! Perfect outfit to compliment the Erstwilder sunflower brooch - I would love to see a variation of this brooch as a mini sunflower bouquet :D

    1. I actually couldn't get the matching top, so didn't have a lot of choice! But to be honest, I tend to always want to style things my own way and a simple white top seemed the obvious choice. Agree about Hell Bunny - they've got some great staple tops right now. Banned are another one I'm really impressed with for that right now :)

  13. Gorgeous outfit! I love everything paired together but I also love everything on its own too! Such a cute top, skirt, brooch, that purse! Those earrings! I've been after earrings just like that! <3
