If you've ever wondered to yourself 'Just how small is CiCi? I mean, she's always banging on about being short, but really?', well, you've come to the right place as you're finally going to see for yourself that the answer is: pretty small. Particularly when standing side-by-side with her wonderful, but much taller friend, Porcelina (of Porcelina's World)!
That's right, over a year since we first met in person, B and I took a drive over to her amazing 30s house in Wales and got under her feet for a whole weekend. She and her husband showed us round St Fagans on a wonderfully sunny day and because we're both bloggers, we had entirely coordinated our outfits beforehand to be able to take some photos together. Because that's not strange at all...
Fear not, though, as we weren't trying to match, but merely look like we'd jumped out of the pages of a fashion catalogue - well, you've got to aim high. I had the idea of making myself look even shorter through us both wearing our Lindy Bop Bethan cigarette pants and starkly illuminating the differences in our leg length. Porcelina thought it would be nice to wear them with some spring colours, and thus, these outfits were born. The fact we both chose to wear headscarves was actually a complete fluke, but a rather cute one if I may say so myself.
So the same trousers, but two very different ladies. You'll notice straight away that these are basically full-length trousers on all 5'1" of me and they are high-waisted. I really like the shape of these trousers for my body-shape, but they do rather cling to your curves. I didn't tell Porcelina this, but I had my favourite Rago shapewear on underneath mine, for my less than naturally flat stomach! Unfair advantage, huh? Worked a treat though, je n'regrette rien. Mine are still brand new, so I haven't washed them yet, but I do find they're a slightly different shape and material to my black pair and again seem a different fabric to Porcelina's here too. So don't take consistency for granted if you buy a pair of these and like them enough to get another one...
And here's what Porcelina thinks of them: these Lindybop trousers are more calf grazing than ankle-grazing on my 5'9" frame! The waist isn't quite reaching my natural waist either, but it's not too far off. I love the light cotton fabric, and the absence of pockets helps keep a sleek silhouette. On the downside, I have only worn and washed these a few times, and they've already faded a little bit. These are a great everyday casual trouser that I am not worried about wrecking.
Obviously, we're both fabulous and we're not inviting a comparison, but isn't it funny how different the same pair of trousers can look?
Don't forget to read Porcelina's side of the story!
