Outfit: denim co-ords and sunshine

It occurs to me that, yet again, I've spent the entirety of August thinking 'it's ok that it's not warm/sunny, we've still got time for it to be summer' ... and then suddenly you're staring down autumn and you're trying to convince yourself an Indian summer is on the cards. So all those lovely summer clothes you bought actually get some wear and don't just sit forlonly waiting for next year, when the whole process begins again. And look at me, yet again talking about the weather. It's like I'm British or something...

Anyway, I had this big idea in my head this summer that I'd embrace this whole co-ords trend that's about and put my own spin on it... but it took me so long to find a matching set I actually liked and wasn't all neon tribal print, that I'm probably only going to manage to wear it once this year. Shopping fail.

But at least the one time I wore it I thought to take pictures, eh? I really like this set, it definitely has a retro vibe about it with the cute sweetheart neck 'bralet'. I hate that word, because there aren't many tops I could ever wear without a bra (might not look it, but those are F cups). But actually, I take it all back because this one was so supportive (read: damn tight) I didn't need one! Genuine bralet, I salute you...

  1. I'm actually glad summer is almost over, it is super hot in Florida so I can't wait for cool days :)
You look great in your outfit, as always! I love your shoes :)

    1. All my blogger friends in the US seem to be of the same opinion! And in the UK we just can't understand it..! These shoes were my summer favourites, for sure :)

  5. I truly feel your pain, my breastfeeding cup size is currently a G! There aren't many (if any) tops I can wear without a bra so that top is truly amazing. I love how it's not a crazy print and could easily be remixed with other separates. You look gorgeous (as usual) and your makeup is perfection ♥

    1. Exactly! I couldn't believe this top had the power to hold me up... but I do think it's because it was so tight! Maybe that's the key... And actually as it stretched it wasn't as great, although can still get away with it. Hooray! Thank you for your lovely comments, as ever :) x

  6. We're having the opposite problem here - I'm so ready for it to be fall so that I can bust out all of my cute fall things, but it's staying stubbornly hot here. Trade me?
This coord is really cute on you. I feel like you could totally wear this into fall with a button down blouse underneath or a cardigan over the top, and that denim skirt would also be great for a school girl kind of look for the fall and winter, I think.

    1. Definitely want to trade you! I built up such a summer wardrobe - to the extent several items still haven't been worn. First world problems :S I think you're right that I could style this for fall - I was pondering if I could get something under the top... the denim skirt I have many plans for, don't you worry ;)

  9. I am ridiculously in love with the dual landscapes at work in these photos. The juxtaposition of green on one side and fields of rippling gold on the other makes for what is, hand on my heart, one of favourite blogger photo shoot locations I've ever seen.

    1. Thank you - that's such a lovely comment! Especially as this is one of those instances where I'd long planned this location and exactly what I'd wear at it... I'm so glad you like it as much as I do! x

  11. This is so cute, I just love it! And how long do your eyelashes look?! Beautiful lady.

I have just worn a couple of bralets on holiday, as I too was waiting for it to get hot enough here in the UK, and then whoops, it's Autumn. Darn it! I have been clinging on to summer this week by layering up with scarves and cardis etc., but still wearing my wedge sandals. I'm determined to get a bit more wear out of my summer clothes before full-on Autumn hits, so it might force me to get a bit creative!

    1. Aw thanks - and I know I'm blessed in the eyelashes department! I think balances out though as along with long lashes, I also got a long nose... heh.

I feel the same about my summer clothes - although at least have the blessing of my early October holiday! There's at least one full outfit I didn't get chance to wear that I can't wait to. Problem is that some summer clothes just aren't easy to dress for colder weather... I think bralets are often in that category! x
