Outfit: stripes and leopards

It's that time again, time for long-sleeved t-shirts... and stripes and leopard print together. And that's really all there is to it.

I am glad to be reunited with my yellow suede shoes after a summer of neglect.

More to come on this pencil skirt, which is one of my new favourites.

  1. Cute! I love pencil skirts! Would you they look good with saddle shoes though? Also my husband thinks pencil skirts are an evening thing :/ He said they'd look weird if I wore them to go shopping…

  2. I think you could put a pencil skirt with saddle shoes - but would look best if you're tall, or taller than me at 5ft2 - as the high finish of the shoe on your foot will 'shorten' your leg and pencil skirts tend to be longish... so you need a bit of leg! But they can look really nice with ballet pumps.

Wearing them for daytime sort of depends on the material in my opinion - I have a denim pencil skirt and a few jersey ones like this that I always wear at weekends - all in the finish and what you wear them with :) x

    1. Thank you for the nice advice! Yes, so true about the shortening of the legs, perhaps ballet flats? Is that what you meant by ballet pumps or? &, unfortunately, I am the same height as you, no offense! ;)

I just wish I could find less pricey dresses/skirts :/ Where you live are there many thrift shops or stores that sell vintage?

    2. Yep that is what I meant by ballet pumps! Having that bit more of the foot exposed helps give the illusion of more length. And there's nothing wrong with being small but perfectly formed!

You know what, I hardly ever buy from thrift or vintage shops. Most of my purchases are cheap high street buys. Or not even high street - the above skirt came from a supermarket and cost very little. That way you've got the good price and the benefit of stretchy modern materials..!

    3. Oh, you Brits! Ballet pumps, ballet flats, tomato, tomatoe ;D

I paired up a hunter green sweatshirt, kind of like what you have on yesterday's post, a dark gray pencil, along with some leopard flats, I'm not a huge fan of leopard print but those are the only flats I have at the moment…& that wasn't my outfit yesterday just thought I'd try it. Yay or nay?

Yeah, I practically have everything new too & I try making it old school. & yes, you're right about the whole modern stretchy materials but Etsy can be a wonderland, never have bought clothing from there but so far I've got a little over twenty items in my cart :/ Just waiting…

Oh, I do have these 60s heels that fit comfortably!
