A while back I wrote a post about some of the great vintage-inspired clothes you could find at great prices from Tesco, who, in my opinion, have gone downhill a bit recently. Instead I find myself increasingly turning to my new favourite bargain shop, boohoo.com.
The dress and boots in the following outfit cost me a grand total of £27! I've added an old Oasis cardigan and stretchy waist belt from Forever 21 to create an outfit with a fairly small nod to the 50s, but still retaining a good degree of the modern with the skirt length and materials.
This is the dress...
|Sara Long Sleeve Viscose Skater Dress, £12|
And these are the boots...
|Shania Suedette Wooden Heeled Shoe Boot, £15|
I didn't have high hopes for the boots - boots for £15 were bound to be bad and the picture hints at poor quality with the cheap looking heels and white-edged black material, but actually I was presently surprised. The wooden heels are darker than the picture indicates and therefore look much nicer and the suedette material doesn't look nearly as nasty as in the picture either
What I really like about Boohoo, apart from the prices, is that nearly all of their styles come in a variety of colours. The above dress also comes in grey, blue, coral and black, for example.
Here's some other lovely vintage-ish styles from the site at the moment.
