Make-up: 50s daytime - a little bit of Audrey

Hooray for the Easter break in the UK, no work for four days! To celebrate, here's a tutorial inspired by the lovely Audrey and her big doe-eyed, girlish look. (And if you're looking for more of a 50's pin-up thing, there's always my other tutorial.)

So here's my usual victim, make-up free and ready to go.

Foundation

Product: Estee Lauder Double Wear in Bone

A nice smooth porcelain base created by a full coverage foundation.

Eyebrows

Product: Urban Decay Brow Box in Beige Betty

Really you want a sharp, relatively thick, square eyebrow shape for this look - typically 50s and youthful-looking.

Eyeliner

Product: No7 Amazing Eyes Pencil in 10 Brown

I put this on before the eyeshadow so that it would transfer more easily to the skin. If putting eyeshadow on over the top fades it, you can just go over again. You're following the natural lash-line, getting thicker towards the outer corners and ending in a small flick upwards.

Eyeshadow

Pale pink

Product: Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Contour Kit - pink base shadow

Sweep a pale pink eyeshadow over the eyelid, up to the eyebrow.

Product: Rubie & Millie Eye Colour Powder in Cappucino 249

Then put a medium brown with a hint of purple over the top, near the lashes, and blend upwards towards the brow too.

Lashes

Products: Murrays Beauty False Eyelashes, Maybelline Great Lash in Very Black

Coat your lashes in black mascara. Then take a pair of lashes - in this case a dirt cheap pair - and cut them in half, as you only want them in the outer corners to create that doe-eye look. Before you stick the lashes on, coat them in black mascara.

Lipstick

Revlon Matte Lipstick Smoked Peach

Product: Revlon Matte Lipstick in Smoked Peach

You want to create a lip shape where the top lip is roughly the same thickness as the bottom, so in L's case I created a broader cupid's bow, going outside of her natural lip line. It's best to use liner to help the lipstick stay put, but actually this Revlon lipstick is so thick it did the trick on its own.

Blusher

Product: No7 Natural Blush in 12 Coral Blush

A bright pink blusher is applied to the lower part of the apples of the cheeks and swept up the cheek bone.

Et voila!

Audrey Hepburn look
